Inclement Weather: Please listen to a local radio or television station for any announcements regarding school closings due to inclement weather. St. Mark’s will follow the decisions made by Wake County Schools. If Wake County Schools are closed, we will be closed. If they are on a one-hour delay, we will open one hour late. If they are on a two hour delay, we will open one hour late. If, during the preschool day, Wake County Schools close early due to hazardous conditions, we will also close. Listen to your radio or TV for this information and pick up your child as soon as possible, as our staff will also need to leave.
We will also post closings or delays on our website and use a phone tree if necessary.
Please use common sense if you are unable to gather information about our closing or delay status. This is a preschool. If you are unsure, err in favor of safety and caution.
Make up days will be held if more than 3 days are missed during the school year due to inclement weather. In some rare instances, a situation may exist which affects Wake County Schools’ operation but does not affect the Preschool’s operation. In such a case, a decision may be made to deviate from our normal policy and open on a day when Wake County Schools are closed. If this occurs, this information will be available on our voice mail message, TV stations WTVD and WRAL and radio station MIX 101.5.
