Advent is celebrated the four Sundays before Christmas, and is considered to be the beginning of the church year.  The color for this season is blue.  The themes of the scripture lessons are ones of anticipation of the coming Messiah, both leading up to the birth of Christ, as well as His second coming.

This year at St. Mark’s we invite you to step away from the business of the season, and join us in worship, prayer, and meditation upon the Scriptures - disciplines that open us up to God’s grace and draw us closer to God.  Here are some of the opportunities for you to join us at St. Mark’s this Advent season:

     9:30am - Lectio Divina: Scripture study, prayer & Holy Communion

     10:45am - Lectionary Study - Study of the weekly lectionary texts.
