About St. Marks

Although St. Mark’s UMC history dates back over 50 years, in the past six years we have been on a new journey as a congregation in discovering together and defining…

OUR MISSION:

REACHING OUT
TRANSFORMING LIVES
EMPOWERING SERVANTS
Serving Our Community and God’s world!

OUR MISSION describes how we will strive to live out our vision.

OUR VISION:

  • First, we will work to make disciple making the core of all that we do.
  • Second, we will be partnering with parents and nearby educational institutions to transform the lives of children and youth in our community.
  • Third, we will be working to update the church’s facilities to be more inviting and accommodating to the community and emerging ministry needs.
  • Fourth, will make hunger relief both right here in North Raleigh and around the world a congregational passion.
  • Fifth, we will build upon our current worship offerings to launch an alternative style worship service.

OUR VISION gives us a clear picture of who God is calling us to become. As a congregation, we have discerned a God-honoring vision that calls us to be a community of faith intentionally focused on these five major ministry areas. Our prayerful goal is to live into all of these visions over the course of the next eight years, by 2015.

OUR VALUES state how we live together and work in ministry together.

We are a Christ centered community of faith, rooted in grace and committed to living out these Kingdom values and beliefs for the transformation of the world. St. Mark’s United Methodist Church is an active, vibrant faith community that has flung open our doors and is seeking to give itself away to our surrounding community. We are constantly seeking to invite others to either begin or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Our chief aim is to work to make sure there are no strangers to the church but rather only friends in faith. For whatever reason you chose to check out our website this day we are grateful and we want to be in relationship with you.
