Sermon – June 17, 2012: When Answers are Not Enough

Last week, we heard the story of David and Goliath again and were challenged to face the giants, in our lives in the same way that David defeated Goliath. Yet, we are certainly not the only ones facing giants. Everywhere we look, we are surrounded by others who are staring down their own giants. As a community of disciples, called to love our neighbors, how can we best care for those who are struggling and suffering? This week we will hear the story of Job (38:1-11) and look at helpful and not so helpful ways to be with others as they face the giants in their lives. Is it possible that there might be a time and place When Answers Aren’t Enough?
