Last week the invitation was to drop the many things of this world in order to pick up the one thing that will make our hearts sing – a deep and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. We were invited to Come Sail Away. This week the invitation takes us a step further. In our lesson, Luke 5:1-11, Christ beckons to us to put out into the deep waters. But that can be scary, challenging, and may not at first glance appear to be productive. Yet if we don’t say ‘yes’, if we don’t sail out, we may miss out on the catch of a lifetime… on what God wants to do in us and through us. So heed the call, come Sunday, put out into the deep and learn that in order to reach the port of heaven, Sail We Must!
