Sermon – July 1, 2012: Drop Whatever You Are Doing

If someone asked you to Drop Whatever You Are Doing and follow, could you do it? That’s what Jesus asks 4 fishermen to do in our lesson for Sunday, Mark 1:14-20. These 4 fishermen have much to do, big responsibilities, and little time for anything else. Their hands are literally and figuratively full. Yet the invitation of Christ to follow Him in mission and ministry is so compelling, these 4 drop everything to become a part of something that makes their hearts truly sing. What about us? Christ continues to issue the invitation to drop what we are doing and follow. Yet our lives are so busy and our hands so full, we often ignore the call or fail to respond to the call. Some of us want to say yes but we have no room or space left in our lives for one more thing, even if it is the most important thing. Come hear a call to let go of many things in order to do/be the thing that will make our hearts sing and will change the world. Drop Whatever You Are Doing and come Sunday to hear the call…Don’t miss the grand invitation to follow Christ because your hands are too Full!
