For the past 5 weeks we’ve been in midst of a sermon series entitled, Extreme Makeover: Christian Edition. The series has helped us to see that our lives are often out of balance and that we are not yet the fully formed followers of Christ that God dreams for us to be. So far in the series, we’ve examined our work, our relationships, our health, and our rest. We’ve begun to look at how we might, with the aid of Christ, makeover our lives. This Sunday will mark the end of the series. We will read the account of Jesus’ Transfiguration – the original, ultimate extreme makeover – as it is recorded in Mark’s Gospel (Mark 9:2-9) and will hear a call to not just DESIRE transformation but to be DISCIPLINED in our efforts to help bring it about. So come Sunday as we celebrate Transfiguration and learn the formula for real Christian Makeovers: DESIRE + DISCIPLINE = TRANSFORMATION.
